A Rock'n'Roll Circus is coming to town.. ...everything seems to be ready.... ...is everyone ready?
With The Rolling Stones announcing new shows this year, life for The Rollin’ Stoned has never been busier! This June the tribute band set the scene for their mates, the Rolling Stones who play Twickenham Stadium later in the month. The Rollin’ Stoned will play at London Welsh RFC at Old Deer Park on Friday 1st June.
Revered by Stones fans for their authenticity and now in their 20th year, The Rollin’ Stoned is the best tribute to the greatest rock n roll band in the world. It’s not just enthusiastic fans who rate The Rollin Stoned so highly, it's the people in the know and those from the Stones' inner circle: Keith Richards' own mother, Doris, described the band as “outstanding” and fit to “stand in for the Stones” which is about as good an endorsement as any could wish.
Fans are promised a 2 hour show which includes not only all the classic hits, but is spiced with enough eclectic selections from the deeper recesses of Stones Album archives to satisfy the most demanding of “Buffs”. The songs are all performed with the same vibrantly authentic attack and raw energy that characterised the original Stones shows in their prime. “.... about as true to the originals as you can get” and “Just like the real thing” enthused rock star photographer Gered Mankowitz who’s famed for his work with The Rolling Stones, Hendrix and Kate Bush among others.
Lithe and enigmatic frontman Mick Jaguar (Jagger), points out; “with a Rollin’ Stoned show, the costumes are shamelessly camp, gaudy and absolutely fab, the instruments genuinely vintage and the wit irreverent. However while the tongue is never far from the cheek we make sure it is never to the detriment of the music.” "...like watching my dad" Keith Richards’ daughter Angela
For those who witnessed the Stones - Brian Jones et al - in their hey day, this is a chance to revisit lost youth, for the rest of you, now’s your chance to see what all the fuss was about. "...Close your eyes! This must be the Stones at their absolute best!!" Brian Jones Fan Club.
This seven piece band holds Byron Jones centre stage for much of the show. Byron is uncannily like his namesake Brian Jones in both looks and sensibility, he’s certainly the leader of the band, a group that he formed nearly 20 years ago. “.... the nearest thing to the real article” The Times
This band has garnered a loyal, large fan base in the UK and across Europe. What clearly comes across to audiences seeing the Rollin’ Stoned at work is the passion they all have for the music of what is, cliché or not, "The Greatest Rock'n'Roll Band" the world has seen.
